Cognitive Dysfunction is being segmented by mechanism, treatment setting, geography and endpoint architecture. NCT07477301 is notable because it evaluates Risperidone in a Phase 2 design sponsored by Universitas Hasanuddin. The main development question is whether the protocol can translate its rationale into a clinically interpretable and operationally credible readout.

| Intervention | Risperidone |

This study examined whether adding structured supportive psychotherapy to risperidone treatment is more effective than risperidone alone in improving cognitive function and reducing inflammation in patients with schizophrenia. Forty-six male patients with schizophrenia were randomly assigned to two groups: the intervention group (n=23) received risperidone 4 mg/day plus 12 sessions of structured supportive psychotherapy over 6 weeks. The control group (n=23) received risperidone 4 mg/day alone for 6 weeks. Cognitive function was measured using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment - Indonesian version (MoCA-Ina) and inflammation was measured using serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels, both assessed at baseline (Week 0) and after treatment (Week 6). NOTE: This trial was retrospectively registered. The study was conducted from December 2024 to February 2025 and received ethical clearance (No. 1009/UN4.6.4.5.31/PP36/2024)
Allocation is Randomized, masking is Double, and the intervention model is Parallel Assignment. Planned enrollment of 46 participants across Indonesia shapes statistical precision, execution risk and external validity. Interpretation should account for baseline risk, prior therapy, assessment schedule, missing-data handling and clinical relevance—not only statistical significance.
The current protocol points to 2025-02-28 as the best available readout proxy. Because this is an active or newly posted study, a trial-specific result citation is not included until a normalized clinical-trial-result record becomes available. That gap is itself operationally important: teams should monitor first result indexing, conference abstracts, protocol amendments and changes to the primary-completion date.
Build a living trial monitor: connect to PatSnap MCP Servers and track recruitment, endpoint revisions, projected readouts and new result records without manually reconciling separate databases.
Drug & Asset MCP profile: Risperidone is indexed as No normalized modality returned, with target No normalized target returned, mechanism No normalized mechanism returned, and global highest development status No normalized global status returned.
Company & Deal Intelligence MCP profile: Universitas Hasanuddin is resolved to a normalized organization record in Indonesia. The organization workflow adds identity, location, portfolio and partnering context where available.
The sponsor profile matters because scientific rationale alone does not determine development value. Manufacturing readiness, portfolio fit, geographic reach, partnering capacity and the ability to fund confirmatory development can determine whether a positive signal becomes a competitive asset.
Monitor recruitment, enrollment changes, protocol amendments, endpoint hierarchy, primary-completion timing, first result indexing, asset ownership and sponsor partnerships. A change in endpoint, population or ownership can alter the probability of success before a headline data release.
NCT07477301 provides a focused lens on Cognitive Dysfunction development. Its value will be determined by whether Risperidone can convert the current Phase 2 design into evidence that is clinically meaningful, operationally credible and differentiated from competing programs.
