Atypical Antipsychotics and Hyperglycemic Emergencies: Multicentre, Retrospective Cohort Study of Administrative Data

The purpose of this study is to determine whether the use of atypical antipsychotic medication increases the risk of hospitalization for a hyperglycemic emergency.
The investigators will carry out separate population-based cohort studies using administrative health databases in eight jurisdictions in Canada and the UK. Cohort entry will be defined by the initiation of a new antipsychotic medication. Follow-up will continue until hospitalization for a hyperglycemic emergency or the end of 365 days. The results from the separate sites will be combined to provide an overall assessment of the risk of hyperglycemic emergencies among new users of various antipsychotic drugs.

Dual Channel passivation enhancing stable perovskite Light-Emitting diodes

Perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) still faces the challenges such as poor film morphol. and inefficient energy transfer from the small-n phase to the large-n phase leading to rapid efficiency degradation and instability in high temperatureTo address these issues, herein, chlormezanone was employed to modify the perovskite film.Combined beneficial points were obtained including improved film morphol., reduced luminescence quenching, enhanced phase distribution and energy transfer by suppressing small-n phases, and defect mitigation at grain boundaries/interfaces via passivation groups (C = O, S = O).Consequently, the fabricated sky-blue PeLEDs delivered an external quantum efficiency of 10.14 % and an operating lifetime (T₅₀) of 23.1 min, which was twice as long as the control device.This developed strategy significantly enhanced the stability while maintain excellent efficiency, providing a solid foundation for future investigation.

Cross-electrophile coupling from naturally abundant materials is of significant value in organic synthesis.Herein, we established a highly efficient deoxygenative cross-coupling reaction using alcs. and industrial preferred aryl chlorides as coupling partners by the merging of photoredox and nickel catalysis with diaryl ketone as a photocatalyst.This methodol. features a broad substrate scope and high functional group tolerance, with straightforward application of scale-up synthesis and late-stage modification of structurally complex natural products and pharmaceuticals, including C-4 alkylated pyridines.This protocol most likely proceeds via a HAT and β-scission process to form alkyl radicals from benzoxazolium salt-alc. adducts.

Herein, we describe nickel oxidative addition complexes (Ni-OACs) of drug-like molecules as a platform to rapidly generate lead candidates with enhanced C(sp³) fraction. The potential of Ni-OACs to access new chemical space has been assessed not only in C(sp²)-C(sp³) couplings but also in additional bond formations without recourse to specialized ligands and with improved generality when compared to Ni-catalyzed reactions. The development of an automated diversification process further illustrates the robustness of Ni-OACs, thus offering a new gateway to expedite the design-make-test-analyze (DMTA) cycle in drug discovery.
