Selling, general and administrative (SG&A) expenses were $2.9 billion in the second quarter of 2026, an increase of 10% compared with the second quarter of 2025. The increase was primarily due to higher administrative costs (including investments in IT), as well as higher promotional costs in support of product launches. Research and development (R&D) expenses were $9.7 billion in the second quarter of 2026 compared with $4.0 billion in the second quarter of 2025.
