The aim of the study is first, to evaluate the clinical antibacterial efficacy of two different NaOCl concentrations (2,5% and 5%) under a predefined irrigant flow rate in teeth with pulp necrosis and apical periodontitis by using Real-time PCR. . Second, to evaluate the efficacy of final irrigation by assessing, if possible, a numerical definition for that "so called" as "copious irrigation".
Besides the total microbial load, the antibacterial efficacy of final irrigation procedure against two different bacterial species (namely Pseudoramibacter alactolyticus and Treponema denticola) will also be examined.

Surface free energies parameters in carbonate rock/nonacidic crude oil/brines systems

Since knowing the effect of salt type is a vital parameter during smart-water injection for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) purposes, surface-free energies on the carbonate surface contacted by crude oil and different aqueous solutions with 0.7 ionic strength (about the ionic strength of seawater) are studied for solutions containing NaCl, Na₂SO₄, KCl, CaCl₂, MgCl₂, and MgSO₄.For this purpose, the interfacial tension (IFT) of crude oil/aqueous solution and contact angle of oil/rock/brine are measured concomitant with the calculation of works of cohesion (WC) and adhesion (WA) as well as spreading coefficient (SC).Maximum equilibrium IFT reduction was observed for MgSO₄ (from 22.7 to 12.71 mN.m^-1).Besides, the calculated adsorption times using the exponential decay model reveal that the chloride salts of MgCl₂ and KCl has the min. and maximum adsorption time of 1600 s and 3400 s, resp.Moreover, the contact angle measurements demonstrate that it is possible to change the wettability condition of rock surface from strongly oil-wet to strongly water-wet (about 20°) using Na₂SO₄ while the other utilized salts can change the contact angle from 170° to neutral wetness condition of 100°.The obtained results show that the best SC was obtained for DW due to its significant wettability alteration capability (from strongly oil-wet toward neutral state) compared with brine solutionsTo sum up, according to the results it can be concluded that solution congaing MgSO₄ can introduce the lowest IFT value and the highest wettability alteration from the initial strongly oil-wet state toward a neutral state, while Na₂SO₄ solution leading the lowest contact angle of about 20° which is the most favorable condition (strongly water-wet).

State-of-the-art mean centering of ratio spectra and HPLC methodologies for comprehensive analysis of some dry eyes drugs: investigation of white and green practices

White and green chem. contribute significantly to improving the sustainability of the chem. industry.Based on green and white metrics, ten sustainability tools have been developed.Several tools were used to evaluate how environmentally friendly, innovative as well as forthright RP-HPLC and mean centering of ratio spectra (MCR) techniques were used to simultaneously analyze and sep. sodium hyaluronate (SDH) and benzalkonium chloride (BNZ) in eye drops.An HPLC study utilizing 0.07 M sodium sulfate adjusted to pH 3.0 and Ethanol (90:10, volume/volume) with 205 nm UV detection used an isocratic approach.The experiment used a Partisil Hichrom SCX column (150 mm x 4.6 mm, 5μm), 20μL injection volume, and a 0.8 mL/min flow rate.The column oven was set at 25°C for each sequence.With the aid of the MCR spectral method, the overlapping of the medication' spectral parameters was efficiently resolved.This technique enabled SDH and BNZ to distinguish at 222.1 and 215 nm wavelengths.HPLC and MCR calibration curves revealed a correlation coefficient exceeding 0.999 for all medications between 10-200μg/mL and 5-30μg/mL.The approach produces good recovery results with 98% to 102%.The proposed approach has been validated following ICH principles.

Scalable Ir-Doped NiFe2O4/TiO2 Heterojunction Anode for Decentralized Saline Wastewater Treatment and H2 Production

AbstractWastewater electrolysis cells (WECs) for decentralized wastewater treatment/reuse coupled with H2 production can reduce the carbon footprint associated with transportation of water, waste, and energy carrier. This study reports Ir-doped NiFe2O4 (NFI, ~ 5 at% Ir) spinel layer with TiO2 overlayer (NFI/TiO2), as a scalable heterojunction anode for direct electrolysis of wastewater with circumneutral pH in a single-compartment cell. In dilute (0.1 M) NaCl solutions, the NFI/TiO2 marks superior activity and selectivity for chlorine evolution reaction, outperforming the benchmark IrO2. Robust operation in near-neutral pH was confirmed. Electroanalyses including operando X-ray absorption spectroscopy unveiled crucial roles of TiO2 which serves both as the primary site for Cl− chemisorption and a protective layer for NFI as an ohmic contact. Galvanostatic electrolysis of NH4+-laden synthetic wastewater demonstrated that NFI/TiO2 not only achieves quasi-stoichiometric NH4+-to-N2 conversion, but also enhances H2 generation efficiency with minimal competing reactions such as reduction of dissolved oxygen and reactive chlorine. The scaled-up WEC with NFI/TiO2 was demonstrated for electrolysis of toilet wastewater.
