Main purpose: After oral administration of a single dose of L-carnitine tablets to healthy adult volunteers as test preparation and reference preparation, pharmacokinetic parameters were used as end-point evaluation indicators to preliminarily evaluate L-carnitine produced by Northeast Pharmaceutical Group Shenyang First Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Are nitine tablets (330 mg/tablet) bioequivalent to L-carnitine tablets (trade name: CARNITOR®, 330 mg/tablet) produced by Leadiant Biosciences, Inc. Provide the basis for determining the sample size and blood collection point for the formal test. Secondary purpose: To observe the test preparation L-carnitine tablets (330 mg/tablet) produced by Northeast Pharmaceutical Group Shenyang First Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and the reference preparation L-carnitine tablets produced by Leadiant Biosciences, Inc (trade name: CARNITOR® , 330 mg/tablet) in healthy volunteers.

Untargeted metabolomics using liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry and chemometrics for analysis of non-halal meats adulteration in beef meat

Objective: The adulteration of raw beef (BMr) with dog meat (DMr) and pork (PMr) becomes a serious problem because it is associated with halal status, quality, and safety of meats. This research aimed to develop an effective authentication method to detect non-halal meats (dog meat and pork) in beef using metabolomics approach.Methods: Liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS) using untargeted approach combined with chemometrics was applied for analysis non-halal meats in BMr.Results: The untargeted metabolomics approach successfully identified various metabolites in BMr DMr, PMr, and their mixtures. The discrimination and classification between authentic BMr and those adulterated with DMr and PMr were successfully determined using partial least square-discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) with high accuracy. All BMr samples containing non-halal meats could be differentiated from authentic BMr. A number of discriminating metabolites with potential as biomarkers to discriminate BMr in the mixtures with DMr and PMr could be identified from the analysis of variable importance for projection value. Partial least square (PLS) and orthogonal PLS (OPLS) regression using discriminating metabolites showed high accuracy (R2>0.990) and high precision (both RMSEC and RMSEE <5%) in predicting the concentration of DMr and PMr present in beef indicating that the discriminating metabolites were good predictors. The developed untargeted LC-HRMS metabolomics and chemometrics successfully identified non-halal meats adulteration (DMr and PMr) in beef with high sensitivity up to 0.1% (w/w).Conclusion: A combination of LC-HRMS untargeted metabolomic and chemometrics promises to be an effective analytical technique for halal authenticity testing of meats. This method could be further standardized and proposed as a method for halal authentication of meats.

Extraction of active compounds from natural materials is commonly used to produce a diverse range of ingredients, nutrients, drugs, flavors, and fragrances.While solvent-based approaches are standard for these extraction procedures, large solvent volumes, greenhouse gas emission (due to atm. release of volatile organic compounds), and large energy requirements are significant issues.Here, we describe a novel process wherein a mech. action is applied to a solid-state mixture comprising a quaternary ammonium salt and a biol. material containing active mols. to form a deep eutectic mixtureIt is first shown that eutectic mixtures can be formed for a wide range of naturally occurring compoundsSelective extraction of these compounds from natural products is then demonstrated using rosemary leaves with three different quaternary ammonium salts.The eutectic mixture formed is purified by liquid/liquid extraction using an oily phase to concentrate the active constituents in the deep eutectic phase.The resulting natural extracts are shown to exhibit high antioxidant activities, which were measured using the conjugated autoxidizable triene (CAT) and the oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) assays.

Influence of Skydrol immersion at elevated temperatures on the thermo‐mechanical properties of a high‐T_g anhydride epoxy resin toughened with a hydroxy‐terminated polyester

AbstractCurrently, the application of composites in aerospace parts exposed to higher temperatures and in aggressive media is still severely limited. To replace metal alloys, alternative resins systems with suitable long‐term heat resistance are needed. In this study, the effect of the aviation hydraulic fluid Skydrol on the thermal and mechanical properties of a high‐Tg, anhydride‐cured epoxy resin in the unmodified and toughened state at elevated temperature is investigated. An aliphatic polyester diol was selected as an intrinsic toughener and its impact on the thermal, mechanical, and aging properties was determined. Experimental characterization of the aging effects is carried out with dynamic‐mechanical characterization, infrared spectroscopy, and electron dispersion x‐ray spectroscopy. In addition, the fracture toughness and the fatigue crack propagation behavior are determined. Initially, the toughened system shows an improved fracture toughness. Since oxidation is blocked by the Skydrol fluid only thermal degradation takes place as determined by the decrease in glass transition temperature Tg and network density. The thermal degradation leads to a tougher behavior, which is observed in both systems in static and dynamic mode with toughness decreasing with aging time again.
