Examination methods were established for detecting effective components of medicinal materials by observing the transfer rate of chlorogenic acid in Flos Lonicerae Japonicae. The available quality standards of Flos Lonicerae Japonicae were perfected so as to establish the internal control quality standards of Flos Lonicerae Japonicae. Observations were made on the transfer rate of chlorogenic acid in different batches of Flos Lonicerae Japonicae, using the same extraction method, followed by an anal. of the results. Different batches of the medicinal herb showed different transfer rates although the extraction method was the same, which was likely to cause failure to meet the quality standards The authors suggested that it was advisable to add the examination item 'transfer rate of effective component', so as to better control the quality of the medicinal materials and ensure the quality of the patent Chinese medicine with Flos Lonicerae Japonicae as one of the ingredients.
